Cosmetic Dentistry in Cincinnati OH

Celebrating over 90 Years of Creating lifelong relationships with our patients and their families.

Some people hear the word cosmetic and assume that we only treat people that are looking to create a Hollywood smile. The cosmetic field of dentistry involves much more than creating a stunning appearance. Cosmetic dental procedures can also restore the functionality of teeth.

Teeth Whitening

Yellow and stained teeth are a sign of age since teeth are whiter the younger you are. Smoking, eating artificially colored foods, and drinking coffee, tea, or wine – can yellow and severely stain teeth.

An in-office whitening procedure can whiten your teeth by up to eight shades. For those who prefer to whiten their teeth on their own schedule, an at-home treatment may be better. We take an impression of your teeth and create a customized Teeth Whitening tray. It’s made to fit perfectly so that the whitening solution stays in place, and your teeth feel comfortable. If necessary, we’ll provide you with a whitening solution that can be used at home.

Porcelain Veneers

Patients with severely stained or damaged teeth, can have porcelain veneers placed in order to improve their smile. We can help to create natural-looking veneers that can transform ordinary smiles into something truly stunning. Porcelain veneers can be used to close gaps in between teeth, make teeth even in length, cover dark stains, and restore teeth that have been cracked or chipped. Some crooked teeth can even appear straighter using porcelain veneers.

Some patients use porcelain veneers to make their teeth appear larger. Some adults, for example, have teeth that appear too small for their smile and their frame. When this is the case, porcelain veneers can be used to elongate the teeth and make them appear more natural.

Smile Makeovers

A smile makeover can not only improve the appearance of your smile but also can improve your oral health when it involves restoring damaged teeth or straightening them. A cracked or chipped tooth can allow an infection to set in and for the damage to spread. Crooked teeth are also more difficult to clean. Food can become stuck between the teeth, making it hard to remove the bits of food while brushing and flossing. This creates additional opportunities for plaque to build up and tooth decay to set in.

The procedures we use include teeth whitening, dental veneers, dental crowns, and dental implants, among others.

We do, however, recommend that if you have damaged a tooth, you schedule an appointment right away. The faster you can come into our dental office, the more options you will have for restoring the damaged tooth. This is especially true if you had a tooth fall out and are trying to save it

Gum Contouring

Gum contouring is a cosmetic procedure that can change the shape of your gums. A dentist can use this procedure to cut away excessive gum tissue that is giving you a “gummy” smile or to restore gum tissue that has receded and is now exposing too much of your teeth.

If you suffer from gum disease, we will work to eliminate the actual disease. Then, you may very well need a gum contouring procedure in order to restore gums that have receded and are now putting the health of your teeth, roots, and jawbone at risk. In a very real sense, gum contouring and grafting can help save your teeth.

Currently, dentists are using both scalpels and lasers to complete gum procedures. Some dentists may use contouring to describe the procedure with the use of a scalpel and reshaping when lasers are used. The terms gum shaping and gum contouring are often used interchangeably by dentists.

Composite Fillings

We use composite fillings as a treatment method for tooth decay. Our team has the necessary experience with placing tooth-colored fillings and can work to ensure that the patient is comfortable throughout the procedure. This is one of our most frequently used procedures, since a filling is typically placed after removing tooth decay (common cavities). If you have amalgam fillings now, we can even replace them with composite ones.

We can place a composite resin filling fairly quickly. This is an affordable and durable restoration that will look similar to a regular tooth. We make sure to complete the procedure in a way that is comfortable, effective, and fast. In some situations, depending on the patient and the position of where the filling will go, we can complete a filling every 30 minutes.

Tooth-colored fillings are safer for your health since they consist of resin or plastic material. Silver fillings are typically not silver, but a metal alloy that includes several materials with mercury among them. If you want to avoid the risks that come with mercury exposure, select tooth-colored fillings or replace your existing silver fillings.

Everyone at this office is wonderful. I know I’m going to be seen and heard whenever I come in. Treated, always, with compassion and understanding.
